Defn: a human male displaying evidence of devolution - exhibits distinctive "caveman-like" tendencies. This man often dribbles in public places; cannot drink a beverage without spilling it on himself, the floor or someone else; may also run into objects like lampposts & bushes; has a definite "sloopish & short legged" running style that is slow and low to the ground, often resulting in the dragging of knuckles.

These throwback neanderthals, along with their questionable diet, should clearly be avoided.

Trains, Rain and Trail

Ran the Greenland Trail last night.  8 mile loop.  Earlier that day a Train started leaking acid causing evacuations in Monument.  Interesting as I was driving throughout the day and running that evening to see trains parked in the middle of nowhere.
Makes one wonder what the train driver(s) do while they wait.
Anyways...... Started running about 6 pm into a steady, annoying wind - probably about 25 mph, gusting more - 40 degrees and light rain.  Makes one wonder if the train drivers were looking out their windows at me thinking what is that guy doing?  Thanks for asking - I am training.  Wanted to keep a 9 min pace to the top of the saddle and was able to do that, including into the wind and uphill and actually felt wet, cold, miserable, heavy legged, okay despite the conditions.  After 5 miles was at exactly 9 min per mile, next mile bought the avg down to 8:55.  The quads are still barking a little from Horsetooth.  Then the last 2 miles did 7:45 avg (wind assisted).  Still tossing up how to approach the Greenland Trail 25K in 2 1/2 weeks.  I should really be tapering for the Marathon 2 weeks after that.  That would be the smart thing to do.  Summary 8 miles, 1 hr 9 mins.
