Ran this yesterday. Course started with about 1 1/2 miles from county road down to the water, then a full lap of Rampart Reservoir with the finish back up 1 1/2 miles to the road. Total distance was closer to 14 1/2 miles.
The first and last section was on a forestry service road, the lap of the reservoir was rolling single track including a few rock scrambles. Ran also along the (paved road) dam for about 2/3rds of a mile.
Was very scenic and enjoyable to run, less than 80 runners, only $6 and each finisher got a horseshoe. 1180' of going up, same down. I ran like a tourist, 2:26 ish. I have never run a race before taking photos - and it shows, some a little blurry.
Defn: a human male displaying evidence of devolution - exhibits distinctive "caveman-like" tendencies. This man often dribbles in public places; cannot drink a beverage without spilling it on himself, the floor or someone else; may also run into objects like lampposts & bushes; has a definite "sloopish & short legged" running style that is slow and low to the ground, often resulting in the dragging of knuckles.
These throwback neanderthals, along with their questionable diet, should clearly be avoided.

Nice Job Craig! Even if you weren't racing it 15 miles is a good effort.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brad, I'm feeling it today.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great place to run - glad you had a good time! And the photos during the race were good too!
